Daniel Coker Horton & Bell's Public Entity/Governmental Liability Practice Group is engaged in the representation of governmental entities and their employees, including, but not limited to local law enforcement, school districts, correctional facilities, Board of Supervisors and other local governmental officials and/or entities. Daniel Coker represents these clients on a statewide basis from our offices in Jackson,Oxford and Gulfport.

The primary focus of this practice group is defense of governmental entities in litigation in state and federal courts arising under the Mississippi Tort Claims Act and 42 U.S.C. § 1983. Our attorneys have defended cases involving issues ranging from high speed police pursuits, use of excessive force, allegations of excessive corporal punishment, inadequate supervision, harassment, deprivation of constitutional rights, inadequate warnings and general negligence. While the group focuses on litigation, our attorneys are also available to assist in the development, revision and/or implementation of policy and procedural guidelines aimed at the prevention of lawsuits.
