Workers’ Compensation

From the inception of the Mississippi Workers' Compensation Act in 1948, Daniel Coker Horton & Bell attorneys have been at the forefront of all aspects of workers' compensation practice.  Formalized in the early 1980s, the Workers' Compensation Practice Group has, from the outset, been comprised of attorneys whose practices concentrate almost exclusively in the area of workers' compensation law, giving the firm a consistent and prominent presence before the Mississippi Workers' Compensation Commission, where it has long been an effective voice for employers and carriers.  Daniel Coker workers' compensation attorneys have further garnered the respect of their peers, as reflected in the U.S. News and World Report's Best Law Firms Metropolitan First-Tier ranking for all three of the firm's offices - Gulfport, Jackson, and Oxford - with Best Lawyers© recognized attorneys located in each of the offices.

As the firm's Gulfport office overlooks the Gulf of Mexico and the Port of Gulfport, Daniel Coker attorneys also defend cases brought under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.  Additionally, the firm represents employers and carriers in Louisiana workers' compensation actions.  The Workers' Compensation Practice Group also offers specialized qualified continuing education programs and updates for clients, risk managers and claims adjusters, and is available for ongoing consultation, onsite client visits, and seminars.
