Defense Verdict for Credit Union in Suit Alleging the Wrongful Return of Account Funds

Plaintiff, a tax preparer, sued her credit union, claiming that the credit union had improperly removed her tax preparation fees from her account and returned them to the IRS.  After three days of trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the credit union, finding the credit union not liable on the plaintiff’s claims of conversion and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
