MS Supreme Court Renders Favorable Ruling in Government Liabilities Case

On May 30, 2024, Daniel Coker attorney Tom Julian successfully obtained a favorable outcome from the Mississippi Supreme Court for his client, Yazoo City, MS. The trial court’s original denial of summary judgment was reversed and judgment rendered in favor of Yazoo City regarding the issue of immunity for fire protection services. The Supreme Court ruled that Yazoo City was immune from liability as it “did not act in reckless disregard for the safety and well-being of any person,” thereby barring further proceedings.
