Summary Judgment Based on Qualified Immunity in Section 1983 Case Alleging Wrongful Arrest and Excessive Force

Obtained summary judgment based on qualified immunity for police officers in a Section 1983 case alleging wrongful arrest and excessive force in violation of plaintiff’s rights under the Fourth Amendment. The federal court found there was probable cause for plaintiff’s arrest and that the officers’ use of force, including one of the officers taking plaintiff to the ground and placing him in a headlock position to restrain him, was not objectively unreasonable under the circumstances.
