Summary Judgment Granted In Favor of City & Police Officers

On April 19, 2024, Attorneys Kristi Rogers Brown and Randolph Mikell successfully obtained Summary Judgment in a Government Liability Case in which The Court found that the Defendants were entitled to immunity under the Mississippi Tort Claims Act in relation to all of the Plaintiff’s claims, as the officer was acting in the course and scope of employment when he responded to a call for backup at the scene of a disturbance.  There was no evidence that the officer was acting with reckless disregard when he approached the scene and allegedly struck the Plaintiff with his patrol unit.
